Sunbird lodge is a mid- range accommodation found in the Great Rift Valley between Nakuru and GilGil on the shores of Lake Elementaita close to lake nakuru Kenya region. The Lodge is nestled on 55 acres of landscape and 20 minutes’ drive from Lake Nakuru National park, 30 minutes from Lake Naivasha and 127km north west of Nairobi, just about 2 hours’ drive from Nairobi –Nakuru Highway. Sunbird lodge contains 16 spacious and comfortable Cottages with the view of the wilderness reflecting traditional African local building style with natural materials and thatched roofs . Cottages are well decorated and furnished with private en suite facilities of flushing toilets, BEAUTIFUL bathroom with hot and cold showers, beds wrapped with mosquito nets, complementary bottled water in the room , free toiletries, slipers , chairs and tables, telephones, 24 hours front desk and many more facilities .

Cottages have private balconies, verandas and sitting areas, you relax while enjoying the stunning view of the Great Rift Valley, garden and surrounding areas. Cottages have excellent and comfortable beds with clean and washed bedding. There are two fireplace at the lodge where fire glows in the evening as they relax and share stories/ experiences about the safari; It also provides warmth to visitors during cold weather. Cottages vary in different sizes with single beds for individual, double/twin beds for sharing / couple and triple /family for group . Room costs ranges from 200$ per night and above.

Lake Nakuru is situated in the southern part of Kenya and it is the rift valley soda lake covering 1,754 m above the sea level. The lake is shallow and surrounded by wooden and busy grass land and protected by Lake Nakuru National Park. The lodge is in Nakuru county on Nakuru- Nairobi highway. The park is small covering the total area of 188 kilo meters squared. The park offers a variety number of animals like; Impalas, antelopes, Buffaloes, wathrogs, waterbucks, white rhinos, Girraffes, Leopard, enlands, baboon, lions ,Zebra, Wild dogs etc and over 450 different bird species like; Flamingos , starling birds, White pelican etc.

The park is famous for huge number of attracting flamingos and being the soda lake.
