Samburu National Reserve Entry Fees 2023 : Entry fees to Samburu national reserve are based on the residency status of the tourists visiting the reserve on a Samburu safari, there are 3 categorizes of park fees that is Kenyan Citizens, Resident and Non- Residents.

Citizens – refer to Kenyan citizens with valid National ID/Passports and citizens of Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda and Burundi in possession of valid Passports or National IDs of their respective countries.

Resident – refer to persons of any nationality residing in Kenya with valid documentation from the Kenyan government.

Non- Residents or Foreign Tourists –refers to foreign visitors who do not reside in Kenya.

The park entry fees to Samburu national reserve are as follows

These fees are per adults per 24 hours and children are individuals under the age of 12 years old.

How to Pay / Mode of Payment For Samburu Fees

Payments for Samburu Fees are accepted in cash in US Dollars or Kenya shillings at the entry gates of the reserve. Cashless modes are also accepted and you can pay via Visa and Mastercard as well as Mpesa Phone Payment.

Citizens and Residents of Kenya are required to present identification and proof of residence to be eligible to the cheaper resident rates.

Samburu Park Rules

Samburu park rules are intended to ensure that visitors on a safari get a superior Samburu safari experience without endangering themselves or the wildlife.

As visitors you are advised to respect the rules and the rangers who are there to protect the visitors, wildlife and the environment. Samburu national reserve rules are as follows

  • Respect the privacy of the wildlife as the reserve is their habitat.
  • Beware of the animals, they are wild and they can be unpredictable.
  • Don’t crowd the animals or make sudden noises and movements.
  • Don’t feed the animals, it upsets their diet and leads to human dependence.
  • Keep quiet, noise disturbs the wildlife and may antagonize your fellow visitors.
  • Stay in your vehicle at all times, except at designated picnic or walking areas.
  • While driving in the park, keep below the maximum speed limit (40 kph/25 mph).
  • Never drive off-road as it can lead to severe damages to the habitat.
  • While viewing wildlife keep to a minimum distance of 20 meters and pull to the side of the road so as to allow others to pass.
  • Leave no litter and never leave fires unattended or discard burning objects.
  • Respect the cultural heritage of Kenya, never take pictures of the local people or their habitat without asking their permission, respect the cultural traditions of Kenya and always dress with decorum.
  • All visitors must leave the park before the dusk between 6.00 pm – 6.00 am. Unless you are camping overnight.
  • Night game drive are not allowed in Samburu national reserve.
