MATIRA BUSH CAMP – MASAAI MARA NATIONAL PARK

Matira  Bush Camp is a mid- range mobile  accommodation found in the heart of the wild-life rich Masaai Mara national park in Kenya at the Junction of Mara River and Talek River. The camp is situated in the middle of the African Bush wilderness and it was established and owned by the great travellers /tourists that have passion for nature and conservation. You can be at the camp by road or air transport taking approximately 5-6 hours (250km) drive from Nairobi city center to Masaai mara national park and an hour to fly from Nairobi to the close ol kiombo airstrip then 9 km drive to be transferred to the camp.   The camp is convenient and business friendly to tourists, travellers who want to explore the park with its beautiful view of Talek  and Mara River, wildlife drinking water at the river and surrounding areas.

Matira bush camp consists of 10 spacious and comfortable tents raised on a wooden deck overlooking the wilderness and rivers reflecting traditional building styles with modern comfort.  There is also campsite with tents for hire for camp lovers.  Each tent is well elevated, decorated and furnished with en-suite facilities of clean private flush toilets, safari style hot and cold showers, hand wash basins mosquito nets, wooden  chairs and Tables, free toiletries , Free bottled water in the tents and many others. Each tent has a sitting areas, Private verandas and vanity deck that give a better view over Talek River, wildlife roaming around river and surrounding areas.    Tents are equipped with comfortable clean beddings containing queen sized beds.  There are fireplaces at the camp where guests relax and share stories about safaris; it also provides warmth to visitors during cold nights.  The camp offers tents suitable for family as well as individuals with single bed, double beds, twin, and triple beds . They cost 200$ per night and above, during high season rate is always high than in low season rate

Matira bush camp offers more services and facilities which include;

  A restaurant in main canvas structure  that serves different   meals  both international ( vegetarians and non- vegetarians) and Kenyan cuisine to  meets  guests choice ,; English breakfast , picnic lunch and  dinners (both in and outdoor dinners)  served by well trained, friendly and organized  staff  ,they also serve bush diners overlooking the stars in the sky .

A well-stocked bar and lounge with  variety of refreshments both , local ,cocktail  , wines, spirits and international beers,  you relax  and sip the cocktail  while overlooking  the breathtaking views  over the Mara wilderness ,  Talek river   and surrounding area

Maasai Mara National park is an area of preserved savannah wilderness in southwestern Kenya, along the Tanzanian border. The park contains over a million of animals that include lions, cheetahs, elephants, zebras and hippos and 600 species of bird and 60 species of raptors in different colors. Wildebeest traverse its plains during their annual migration from Serengeti national park during July, August and October .The landscape has grassy plains and rolling hills, and is crossed by the Mara and Talek river.
