ITHUMBA CAMP – TSAVO EAST NATIONAL PARK
Ithumba camp is a budget accommodation owned and managed by David Sheldrick wildlife Trust found in north of Kenani , ithumba areas in the northern part of Tsavo East National park south east of Kenya Region. The camp is situated amongst the bush and acacia tree surrounding the Galana River. The camp is convenient and affordable to budget guests who want to explore the park with stunning views of the river and surrounding areas. The camp is located 98km from Kabwezi town and it takes 7 hour’s drive from Nairobi city then an hour and half to fly from Nairobi to the close airstrip then few minutes to be transferred to the camp.
Ithumba camp consists of over 5 spacious and comfortable rooms with the view of the wilderness that are built in African Traditional style with cool galena stone floors and beautiful thatched roof. All rooms have separate bathroom with hot showers , clean flush toilets , mosquito nets , wooden chairs and tables , free bottled water in the rooms clean duvet and white pillows to mention but a few. Rooms have sitting areas, verandas and private balconies that give a stunning view of the pool, park, and wildlife roaming at the camp and surrounding areas. Rooms are well equipped with comfortable beds containing queen sized beds. The camp offers campfires where fire glows with comfortable chairs where guests relax and share stories/experience about the Kenya safari, it also provide warmth to visitors in cold days. Rooms are configured as singles, doubles, twins, triples with different costs ranging from 150$ per night and above. The room rate keeps changing as they go high during peak season than in low season.

A swimming pool that cools off the hot with beds to relax on as you enjoy the breezes with well stocked bar with variety of refreshment both alcoholic and nonalcoholic, you relax in the veranda and sip the monk tail while overlooking the spectacular view of the park, wildlife drinking water at Galana river and surrounding area ,

Tsavo national park is made of two separate parks located in Kenya Province between Nairobi city and Mombasa, The Park is considered to be among the largest parks in Kenya covering the total area of 22,000km squared. The two different parks in Tsavo national park include; Tsavo east national park which is the oldest and largest park in Kenya found in the semi-arid areas of Taru desert occupying the total area of 13,747 kilometers squared and Tsavo west national park also covers the total area of 9,065 kilometers squared.
The Two park are most visited with different categories of accommodations; Budget, mid- range and Luxury accommodation that are convenient and affordable to visitors visiting the park.
