Explore Mountain Gorillas : Gorillas are amazing, intelligent, and gregarious primates that inhabit the mountains and forests of central Africa. They are members of the Hominidae family, which also includes humans, chimpanzees, and orangutans. Adult male gorillas can grow up to 6 feet tall and weigh between 300 and 400 pounds.
The gorillas are primarily herbivores, and the females are slightly smaller, more slender, and covered in thick, dark fur that helps regulate their body temperature in the cooler mountain climates. They also have a distinctive facial feature, such as a flat noise, and piercing eyes that seem to communicate a sense of wisdom and understanding, and they are known for their gentle nature. The gorillas live in social groups that are led by a dominant male, known as a silverback, who looks out for and looks after the other group members, usually consisting of several females and their young.
Gorillas use their hands and flexible fingers to handle and gather their own food, including leaves, shoots, and frits. The mountain gorillas are extremely strong and quick, and they can move quickly through the forest while swinging from tree to tree with their powerful arms. They are also very intelligent, and they use tools like sticks and rocks to help them move around and gather food. They can communicate with each other using a variety of vocalizations, such as roars, grunts, and chirps, as well as subtle changes in body language and facial expressions.
Gorilla trekking experience.
The best safari activity is gorilla trekking, which may be done in a number of destinations, including the Volcanoes National Park in Rwanda, the Bwindi Impenetrable National Park or Mgahinga Gorilla National Park in Uganda, and the Virunga National Park in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
The gorilla trekking experience begins very early in the morning at the park headquarters, where park rangers and park guides give a lecture on the guidelines and procedures to be followed during the hike.
After the briefing, you will be split up into groups of eight people each, each of whom will be accompanied by a safari guide with experience and understanding of the park’s routes. You will then explore the area while searching for gorillas.
Because gorillas are constantly roaming about the park in search of food, a gorilla trekking trip can last anywhere from thirty minutes to six hours, depending on the gorillas’ location. In the process of searching for the gorillas, you will be amazed by the park’s diverse biodiversity, which includes unique animal, plant, and bird species. Additionally, you will get an hour to spend with the gorillas after you locate them. You will be astonished as you watch the gorillas eat, play, and groom their young. You will also see how the females take pictures and record videos of the gorillas using less flash cameras because the flash disturbs the gorillas. You will return to the starting location after the experience, where you will receive your gorilla trekking certificates as a prize for participating in the activity.

Gorilla habituation experience.
In contrast to gorilla trekking safari, gorilla habituation safari experience offers a unique opportunity to spend an extended amount of time with gorillas. Gorilla habituation is the process by which gorillas get used to human presence without changing who they are as natural beings. It only occurs in Uganda, specifically in the southern Rushaga sector of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.
You will be divided into different groups of four tourists and follow a group of habituators and researchers for four hours, which gives you more time with the gorillas than the one hour of gorilla trekking. Gorilla habituation begins with a briefing where trekkers will meet a group of conservationists, scientists, and researchers to explore the park.
The gorilla habituation experience gives you more time with the gorillas than the gorilla trekking experience does.
You will witness the mountain gorillas constructing their nests for the following night and beginning to search for their breakfast among the vines, as well as the females grooming their young and filming their videos with fewer or no flash cameras due to the flash cameras.
