GEOGRAPHY OF ARUSHA NATIONAL PARK
Arusha national park is a relatively small national park covering an area of 137 square kilometers, the park covers Mount Meru with an elevation of 4,566 meters in the Arusha Region in the North Eastern Tanzania.
Mount Meru is the second highest peak in Tanzania after Mount Kilimanjaro – the tallest free standing mountain in Tanzania and Africa as well, Mount Kilimanjaro is situated just 60 kilometers away and its snowcapped backdrop can be seen from the park to the east.

HOW TO GET TO ARUSHA NATIONAL PARK
Arusha national park’s main entrance is about 35 kilometers northeast of Arusha and it takes approximately 40 minutes’ drive and approximately 1 hours’ drive from Kilimanjaro International Airport, Kilimanjaro national park is just 46 kilometers from the park and Arusha airport which makes it the easiest way to get there is using direct international flights flying to Kilimanjaro International Airport. From the Airport you will be picked by the our safari guide upon arrival.
From Arusha or Kilimanjaro International airport you take the main road between Arusha and Moshi to the signposted turn-off, from where it is about 10 kilometers north to Ngorongare gate which is used to access the park. From the Momella gate, you continue along a rough track to Lariboro, on the main Nairobi Highway passing Ngare Nanyuki Village which is about 6 kilometers north or Momella gate rn-route.
If you are traveling on your own without using a tour operator or private means of transport, there are several buses operating on a daily between Arusha and Ngare Nanyuki Village, these buses depart Arusha between 1.30 pm and 4 pm and Ngare Nanyuki between 7 am and 8 am. Buses stop at the Ngorongare gate.
