Samburu national reserve is managed by the local council of Samburu government not Kenya Wildlife Services. The reserve is strategically positioned along Ewaso Nyiro River that offers tourist a stunning adventure as they watch animals quenching their thirst along the river. Samburu National reserve is located about 350 Kilometers from Nairobi the capital city of Kenya.
Getting to Samburu National Reserve;

- Foreign residents & Citizens adults pay 250KES per person per day to access Samburu national reserve where are the Nonresident children pay 100KES per child.
All the fees are valid for 24hours thus past 24 hours, you are entitled to extra fee.
Vehicle entrance fees to Samburu national reserve 2022;
The vehicle entrance fees depends on the number of seats in a vehicle and it is also payable on a per day basis as below;
- Vehicles with less than 6 seats pay 300KES
- Vehicles with 6 to 12 seats pay 1,050KES
- Vehicles with 6 to 12 seats pay 1,050KES
- Vehicles with 13 to 24 seats pay 2,585KES
- Vehicles with 25 to 44 seats pay 4,050KES
- Vehicles with more than 45 seats pay 5,000KES
All these rates are per day valid for 24 hours.
Camping fees in Samburu National Reserve 2022
The camping fees for Samburu national reserve are paid depending on the residence status, age and the type of campsite since there are both public and private/ special campsites.
Special campsites;
- Foreign Nonresidents adults pay 35$ per person where are the Nonresident children pay 250KES per child.
- Foreign residents & citizens adults pay 20 $ per person where are the Nonresident children pay 200KES per child.
Public campsites;
- Foreign Nonresidents adults pay 25$ per person where are the Nonresident children pay 200KES per child.
- Foreign residents & citizens adults pay 15 $ per person where are the residents & Citizens children pay 150KES per child.
When to visit Samburu national reserve;

Dry season covers the months of December, January, February, March, June, July, August, September and October.
