Detailed itinerary of 8 days Uganda safari from Kigali City
Day 1: pick up in Kigali city and transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable national park
To start your safari, you will be picked from Kigali City at your hotel or from the Airport upon arrival and transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable national park with border crossing at Katuna Border and proceed to the park. You arrive in the afternoon, check into your lodge and have an evening of resting. Have dinner and stay overnight.

Day 2: Mountain gorilla trekking in Bwindi – Visit to the Batwa Pygmies
You will wake up very early for breakfast then head to the park’s headquarters “park offices” for briefing at 07:00 am. During the briefing, the park rangers and guides will share information about the requirements and rules for gorilla trekking. You will then be assigned a gorilla family to trek and porters.
Together with other trekkers, you will go through the thick forest, steep and muddy areas before finally meeting the family, follow instructions from the guide and take as many photos as possible. While in the presence of the gorillas, stay calm and do not make sudden movements. The memory of the time spent with the gorilla family will always remain with you, after one hour of being the presence of the gorillas, you will return back to your hotel, have some rest and in the afternoon you will have a visit to the Batwa Pygmy Community. The Batwa people once lived in the forests side by side with the gorillas in the forest, they have now resettled along the borders of the park and during your visit. You will get a deeper insight into the life of the Batwa, be entertained by cultural dances and drama and stories. Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 3: Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi
Wake up early for breakfast and start on the journey to Lake Bunyonyi which is arguably Uganda’s most beautiful lake and the 2nd deepest lake in Africa after Lake Tanganyika. The lake hosts several beautiful islands, romantic shores and is a sanctuary for countless birds.
You will have a full day of relaxing by the shores of the lake, go boat riding and touring the local fishing villages. In the evening you will head to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 4: Head for Queen Elizabeth national park – game drive in Ishasha
After breakfast, you will transfer to Queen Elizabeth national park through the Ishasha sector where you will spot tree climbing lions resting on fig trees, antelopes and primates. Tree climbing lions are only found into destinations in Africa that is Queen Elizabeth national park and Lake Manyara national park in Tanzania.
You will head to your lodge for lunch after checking in and in the afternoon you will head to the Kasenyi area for a game drive. Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 5: Second game drive and boat cruise
You will wake up early for breakfast and head to the park for a full long eventful day, you will head to the Kasenyi plains for an early morning game drive purposely to catch up with the nocturnal animals such as lions, leopards, African widows and hyenas as they are returning to their dens after a busy night of hunting and many early risers.
You will return to your lodge for lunch and in the afternoon head to the Kazinga channel for a boat cruise set off at 2.00pm , the Kazinga channel is a meeting for point for most of the animals in Queen Elizabeth national park and a collection of birds, you will be able to see water dwelling animals such as crocodiles and hippos and water birds such as herons, crested cranes among others. Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 6: Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park
After breakfast, you will checkout of your lodge, exit the park and embark on a journey to Murchison Falls national park. Along the way you will have en-route lunch, arrive in the park in the evening. Enter the park and drive through the beautiful Budongo forest heading to Murchison Falls where you will watch the Victoria Nile as it squeezes itself through 8 meters gorge to create Murchison Falls. Head to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 7: Morning game drive and a boat cruise along the Nile
Wake up early, have breakfast and head to the plains of Murchison Falls National Park for a morning game drive which starts at 07:00 am, during the game drive you will be able to see a number of animals such as lions, cape buffaloes, giraffes, elephants, antelopes, waterbucks and many birds such as herons among others.
After the game drive at around midday you will head to back to the lodge for relaxation, freshen-up and have lunch, in the afternoon you will go for an afternoon launch cruise. On the boat cruise you will be able to see elephants along the banks of the Niles and many birds such as the shoe billed stork,, bee-eaters, colored kingfishers among others. In the evening you will head back to your lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 8: Departure / return to Kampala
Enjoy your breakfast at leisure then proceed to the park for another game drive as you exit the park on your way back to Kampala, on the game drive you will be able to see many animals such as buffaloes, elephants, giraffes, lions and antelopes and many bird species. Along the way, you will have lunch in Masindi and continue on your journey to Kampala arriving in the evening. You will be dropped off either at the hotel in Kampala or at the airport for your departure flight back home.
