Detailed itinerary of 8 Days Best of Kenya safari
Day 1 – Transfer from Nairobi – Samburu national reserve
On the first of the 8 days best you will be picked from your hotel in Nairobi by your safari driver, your safari driver will give you a short safari briefing and then embark on a journey to Samburu national park. The reserve is one of the scenically beautiful Kenya wildlife destinations comprising of beautiful forests, spring and rivers and is famously known being a habitat to the uncommon Grevy’s zebra. There are other animals found in this park and they include lions, hippos, giraffes and over 365 bird species including the Somali Ostriches with distinct blue legs.
When you arrive in the park you will check into your lodge for lunch and in afternoon you will go for a game drive exploring various sections of the park and enjoy watching numerous animal species.
In the evening you will head back to your lodge for dinner and stay overnight.

Day 2 – Full day in Samburu national reserve
After early morning breakfast at your lodge you will head to the park a full day game drive together with your packed lunch, during the game drive you will have an opportunity to watch many animals livening in savannah plains of the park such as elephants, giraffes, hippos, zebras, bufflaoes among others. At lunch you will have picnic kind of lunch set at one of the picnic sites in the park and then head for another game drive. In the evening you will have dinner and stay overnight at your lodge.

Day 3 – morning game drive and visit the local Samburu people.
After morning breakfast at your lodge, you will head to the reserve for the last game drive visiting other areas you didn’t get a chance to visit on the previous game drive, after the game drive you will have lunch at your lodge and in the afternoon you will go for a cultural visit in the Samburu communities, while on your cultural tour you will get a chance to learn more about the Samburu local people, be entertained by local dances and drama, taste local dishes and interact with the locals. In the evening you will head back to your lodge, have dinner and stay overnight.

Day 4 – Transfer to Lake Nakuru national park
After morning breakfast at your lodge you will checkout and embark on a journey to Lake Nakuru national park one of the best birding destinations for Kenya birding safaris and famously known for pink flamingoes. Lake Nakuru national park is also famous for hosting the largest population of black and white rhinos in Kenya, when you arrive in the park you will check into your lodge, have lunch and then go for a game drive in the savannah plains of the park watching many animals such as rhinos, zebras and many more. You will also do a boat ride on the waters of Lake Nakuru where you will be amazed by the pink hue on the shores and watch many birds such as flamingoes, cormorants and others.
In the evening you will retire to your lodge, have dinner and stay overnight.

Day 5 – Transfer to Lake Naivasha
After morning breakfast at your lodge at your own leisure, you will head to Lake Naivasha for a boat ride, Lake Naivasha is a freshwater lake in the rift valley and one of the amazing Kenya birding destination. The Lake is a habitat for over 400 bird species which you will enjoy watching such as Fulvous Whistling-Duck, White-backed Duck, Egyptian Goose, Common Swift, Nyanza Swift, African Rail among others.
After the boat ride you will head back to your lodge for lunch and then lounge around your lodge either take a swim or go back to the lake for a swim. In the evening you will head back to your lodge, have dinner and stay overnight.

Day 6 – Transfer to Maasai Mara
After morning breakfast, you will checkout of your lodge and head on en-route game drive as you exit Lake Nakuru national park heading to Maasai Mara national reserve one of the 9th wonders of the world and a renowned Kenya safari destination. Maasai Mara national reserve is famously known for the great wildebeest migration specifically the river crossing as the wildebeests cross Mara River to enter the plains of Maasai Mara dominated by woodland savannah grassland.
On your arrival, you will check into your lodge, have lunch and then go for an afternoon game drive on which you will have an amazing time exploring the reserve. On the game drive you will enjoy watching many animals such as lions, elephants, leopards, cape buffaloes, rhinos, cheetahs and many more. After the game drive you will head back to your lodge, have dinner and stay overnight.

Day 7 – Full day in Maasai Mara
After early morning breakfast at your lodge, you will head to the rolling plains of Maasai Mara national reserve for a morning game drive and afternoon Maasai community tour. On the morning game drive you will enjoy watching a number of animals such as lions, leopards, cape buffaloes, elephants, and on the lucky day you get to enjoy the spectacular great wildebeest migration as millions of wildebeests, zebras and gazelles cross from Serengeti national park to the plains of Maasai Mara looking for green grass and rain.
After the game drive you will head back to your lodge for lunch and in the afternoon you will head you will head out to for a cultural encounter in the Maasai community, on this experience you will have an opportunity to get a more insight in the lifestyle of the Maasai locals. You will also be entertained by local dances and learn more about the Maasai people. In the evening you will head back to your lodge, have dinner and stay overnight.

Day 8 – transfer back to Nairobi
On the last day of the safari you will have early morning game drive in the Maasai Mara plains spotting a number of predators such as lions, leopards, cheetahs and among others, then you will return to the lodge for breakfast, checkout and embark on a drive back to Nairobi for your drop-off.
When you arrive in Nairobi you will have lunch at the hotel of your choice and then be dropped off at the airport to catch your flight back home.
