DETAILED ITINERARY OF 6 DAYS UGANDA RWANDA SAFARI TOUR
Day 1: Pick up and transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park and afternoon game drive
To start your safari, you will be picked from your hotel in Kampala or at Entebbe International Airport upon arrival by our representative (your driver-guide). Your guide will give you a short briefing about the safari, then embark on a journey to Queen Elizabeth National Park – the most scenic and popular safari park in Uganda. This beautiful park is named after the late Queen Elizabeth II of England following her visit in 1952.
Along the way, you will have a stopover at the Equator crossing at Kayabwe for pictures, you will have another stopover in Mbarara for lunch then continue to Queen Elizabeth National Park. When you enter in the park, you will have en-route game drive as you head to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 2: Morning game drive in Kalinzu Forest Reserve and afternoon Boat Cruise on Kazinga Channel
After breakfast, you will head to Kalinzu Forest Reserve for chimpanzee trekking, you will have briefing about the experience and go for a guided trek through the verdant Kalinzu Forest looking for chimpanzees. On this experience you will learn bout their habits and their behavior, also lookout for other forest creatures like olive baboons, colobus monkeys, blue monkeys and many birds.
You will then head back to the lodge for lunch, in the afternoon you will go for a boat cruise on Kazinga Channel lasting for 2 hours, the channel is home to the world’s densest concentrations of hippos, huge Nile crocodiles many water birds which you will see during the drive. Along the shores of the channel, you will also see elephants and buffaloes which come to drink water.
Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 3: early morning game drive in Kasenyi plains and transfer to Bwindi impenetrable national park
After breakfast, you will go for a morning game drive in Queen Elizabeth National Park’s Ishasha Sector where you will see the tree climbing lions resting on fig trees. On the drive you will see buffaloes, elephants, lions, leopards, Uganda Kobs among others.
After the game drive, you will head on a journey to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park with en-route lunch. When you arrive in the park, you will check in and spend the rest of day, have dinner and stay overnight.

Day 4: gorilla trekking in Bwindi and transfer to Volcanoes National Park
Wake up early for breakfast and head to the park’s headquarters for briefing about mountain gorilla trekking and how to behave while in the forest with the mountain gorillas, in groups of 8 people you will be assigned a gorilla family to trek.
Then head into the forests of Bwindi looking for mountain gorillas, the trek takes about 30 minutes to 6 hours or more depending on the movement of mountain gorillas and where they spent the previous night. Along the way you will spot other primates including olive baboons, black and white colobus monkeys among others.
When you locate the gorillas you will spend one hour in their presence while watching the care for each other, pick fruits which they eat as food, play on tree branches and take pictures. After one hour, you will return to the park’s headquarters where you will be rewarded with gorilla trekking certificate.
After lunch, you will head embark on a journey to Volcanoes National Park through Cyanika Border. Arrive in the park in the evening, check into your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 5: golden monkey trekking and Ib’Iwacu Village Visit
After early breakfast, you will head to Kinigi for briefing about golden monkey trekking, then head into the forests of Volcanoes National Park looking for golden monkeys found in the Bamboo forests. When you locate them, you will see them play on tree branches, watch them pick fruits and interact with each other.
Return to the park’s headquarters to pick your golden monkey certificates and head to the lodge for lunch, in the afternoon you will go for a visit to the Ib’Iwacu village where you will enjoy the Rwanda cultural, their lifestyle, demonstration of traditional weddings, participate in dances and folk songs. In the evening, you will head to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
