Detailed itinerary of 6 days Kenya private reserves safari
Day 1: Nairobi to Amboseli National Park
As early as 06:00 am you will leave your hotel in Nairobi by your safari drive and after a short safari briefing you will head south for Amboseli national park a magnificent Kenya safari destination endowed with the striking views of the snowcapped summit of Mount Kilimanjaro. You are to arrive in the park in time for lunch which you will have after checking into your lodge, then rest for a while in the afternoon you will go for walk in the Maasai warriors living in the local villages situated across the park’s boundaries. The Maasai are nomadic pastoralists depending on rearing animals such as cattle, goats and sheep, while in the Maasai village you will be entertained by singing and dances, interact with elders and many more. In the evening you will head back to your lodge, have dinner and stay overnight.
Day 2: Full day in Amboseli
You will wake up early to the wonderful sounds of birds and after early breakfast you will go for a full day game drive in Amboseli national park in an open sided 4×4 safari vehicle, you will also go with your packed lunch because on this day you are to have a picnic lunch. On the game drives you will enjoy excellent views of various wildlife species such as Maasai giraffes, elephants, lions, cheetahs, African wild dogs, wildebeests, hartebeests and many more. You will also enjoy views of the majestic snowcap of Mount Kilimanjaro and massif of Ol Doinyo Orok while having picnic lunch set at any of the picnic sites in the park, after lunch you will go for another game drive and in the evening you will enjoy a sundowners experience at an observation platform overlooking a waterhole. In the evening you will return to your lodge, have dinner and stay overnight.
Day 3: Amboseli National Park to Nairobi National Park
After breakfast at your lodge, you will checkout and head for an en-route game drive then exit the park and drive to Nairobi city where you will arrive in time for lunch which you will have at hotel, after lunch you will drive to Nairobi national park the only world’s wildlife national park to be situated in the city.
In Nairobi national park you will have an opportunity to enjoy watching wildlife, wide open grass plains and the backdrop of the city scrapers, the park is a home to Kenya’s most successful rhinoceros sanctuaries hosting the world’s highest concentration of black rhinos. When you arrive in the park you will go for an afternoon game drive on which you will enjoy watching many animals such as leopards, cheetahs, giraffes, zebras, warthogs, gazelles, buffaloes and many more. In the evening you will head back to your lodge, have dinner and stay overnight.
Day 4: transfer to Maasai Mara National reserve
After breakfast at your lodge, leave your lodge and embark on a drive to Maasai Mara national reserve through the Great Rift Valley where you will enjoy scenic views of the escarpments, the journey takes about 4-5 hours thus arriving in the reserve in time for lunch which you will have at your lodge.
After lunch you will drive to Ol Kinyei Conservancy the first conservancy to be established I Maasai Mara ecosystem, and situated in the North-East of Maasai Mara national reserve. On the game drive you will enjoy the pristine wilderness area of the conservancy characterized of open savannah plains, riverine forest, springs, river and rolling hills. You will also spot many animals such as lion, leopard, cheetah, giraffe, wild dog and many more.
After the experience you will head back to your lodge, have dinner and stay overnight.
Day 5: Explore Ol Kinyei and Naboisho Conservancies (Maasai Mara national reserve)
After morning breakfast at your lodge, you will head for a game drive in both Ol Kinyei and Naboisho conservancies in search for the big 5 and other wildlife species, these conservancies are gifted with breathtaking natural beauty and a wide range of wildlife including lions, cheetahs, elephants, giraffes, wild dogs and many more which you will encounter on the game drives in these conservancies.
At lunch you will return to your lodge for lunch then go for another game drive, in the evening you will go for an evening game rive on which you will enjoy nocturnal creatures such as leopards, lions, cheetahs, African wild dogs and sundowner’s experience. After the experience you will head back to your lodge, have dinner and stay overnight.
Day 6: Transfer back to Nairobi
After breakfast at your lodge, you will go for a final game drive in the Mara Nabiosho conservancy, then exit the park and embark on a journey to Nairobi city. When you arrive in Nairobi you will be dropped off at the hotel or at the airport for your departure flight back home.
