Detailed itinerary of the safari
Day 1: transfer to volcanoes national park
The 1st of the 2 days Rwanda gorilla trekking safari is for arrival and transfer to Volcanoes National Park, you are to arrive in Kigali the capital of Rwanda using Kigali International Airport. At the airport you will meet your safari driver a representative of Focus East Africa Tours and transfer to Kigali city, depending on your time of arrival you will embark on a short city tour visiting sites such as Kigali genocide memorial site, kimironko market for artifact shopping and many more. After the city tour you will have lunch and drive to Volcanoes National Park, on your way you will enjoy scenic views of thousand hills and valleys. When you arrive at the park you will check in, have dinner and stay overnight.

Day 2: mountain gorilla trekking and transfer back to Kigali
The 2nd day of the 2 days Rwanda gorilla trekking safari is meeting mountain gorillas while on a mountain gorilla trekking and transfer back to Kigali for departure flight, after early morning breakfast at your lodge you will head to Volcanoes National Park’s headquarters for briefing about the safari. In the briefing session head ranger will read you rules and regulations to be following while in the presence of mountain gorillas, you will also be assigned a mountain gorilla family to trek and hire a porter to assist you on a safari and then hike into the forests in search for mountain gorillas.
Mountain gorilla trekking takes about 2-3 hours depending on the location of the mountain gorillas and their movement, when you find the mountain gorillas you are allowed to stay only one hour in the presence of mountain gorillas observing these creatures and taking pictures as long as your flashlight is off. When 1 hour elapses you will trek back to the park’s headquarters then to your lodge. At your lodge, you will have lunch then checkout and embark on your drive in Kigali. When you reach in Kigali you will have lunch and then be dropped off at the airport for your departure flight back home.
