DETAILED ITINERARY OF 2 DAYS GORILLA TRACKING RWANDA
Day 1: Visit the Genocide memorial site & City Tour
Have early breakfast, be picked from your hotel in Kigali by your safari driver guide and after a short safari briefing you will go for a short city tour marking the start of 2 days Gorilla trekking safari in Rwanda.
During the city tour, you will visit the Genocide Memorial Site displaying the information and memories of the 1994 Rwanda Genocide, the most horrific blood shading in the history of Rwanda, you will also visit some local markets, have lunch and then transfer to Volcanoes national park.
Volcanoes national park is one of the 4 gorilla destinations in the world, the park lies on an altitude of 2400 meters to 4,507 meters and is situated approximately 80 kilometers from Kigali City.
On reaching the park, you will check into your lodge for lunch and in the afternoon you will go for a visit to the Ibywachu village for an encounter with the local Rwandese people, be entertained by local dances and drama, watch the demonstration of installing the King, and visit the local palace among others.
In the evening you will head back to your lodge for dinner and overnight as you prepare for tomorrow’s adventure.

Day 2: Trekking Gorillas and transfer to Kigali
Wake up early for breakfast and head to the park’s Kinigi headquarters by 07:00 am for briefing about the concerns of mountain gorillas trekking and how to behalf while in the presence of mountain gorillas. This is done by a ranger, you will also be grouped into 8 people and be assigned a gorilla family to tree.
After briefing you will set off with trekking along the paths in the bamboo forests in search for the gentle giants, gorilla trekking experience is an amazing activity and it takes approximately 2 to 6 hours of tracking the mountain gorillas.
When you meet the gorillas face to face, you will be mesmerized by their enormous size, you will watch them jump from branch to branch, feed, play among other things. You will be allowed to stay in their presence only for one hour of watching these gentle giants and you can take amazing pictures and videos as long as your flashlight is off. As you hike through the forests of Virunga national park, you will be able to spit buffaloes, monkeys, birds and forest elephants.
Later, you will trek back to the lodge for lunch, checkout and embark on a journey back to Kigali city, you will be dropped off either at your Hotel or at Kigali International Airport for your departure flight.
