Detailed itinerary of 10 Days Uganda Safari

Day 1: Airport Pick up –Transfer to Kampala

On arrival at Entebbe International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by our representative and be driven to your hotel in Kampala or Entebbe for overnight stay.

Day 2: Kampala – Visit the Top of the Falls

After amazing breakfast, you will meet your guide and drive to Murchison Falls National Park through the famous Luwero Triangle. Have another stop in Masindi for lunch and continue to Murchison Falls National Park, enter into the park and head to the top of Murchison Falls where you will watch the River Nile as it squeezes through a narrow gorge before ferociously plunging down 43 meters down. Continue to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 3: Murchison Falls Game drive – Boat cruise along the Mighty Nile           

Enjoy breakfast and head to the park for an early morning game drive in the northern region of Murchison Falls National Park led by a tour a guide, the game drive is very rewarding with encounters of wildlife like leopards, jackals, lions, buffaloes, Uganda Kobs, elephants and many more.

In the afternoon, you will head out for a boat cruise along the Victoria Nile. The boat trip allows you to see rare and prehistoric shoebill, brightly colored kingfishers and bee-waters among others along the riverbanks. You will also see hippos and crocodiles in the waters, the cruise takes you to the base of the falls which only adds to their impressiveness and beauty.

Day 4: Transfer to Kibale National Park

After breakfast, you will be picked up by your guide and transfer to Kibale National Park – the primate capital of Africa, drive to Fort Portal via Mityana – Mubende road. Have a stopover in Mubende and visit the Nakayima Tree, have lunch en-route and continue to the park arriving in the afternoon, check in and spend the rest of the day at rest.

Dinner and overnight at Chimpundu Safari Lodge (Luxury), Chimpanzee Forest Guest House (Midrange), Kibale Guest Cottages (Budget).

Day 5: Chimpanzee tracking in Kibale Forest

After early breakfast, head to the park headquarters at Kanyanchu for briefing about chimpanzee trekking dos and don’ts by a park ranger. Head into the forest and spend half of the day in the rainforests of Kibale looking for chimpanzees.

The trek takes approximately 2 to 4 hours of looking for chimpanzees and enjoying sights of other primates in the forests like grey cheeked Mangabey, red-tailed monkeys and several bird species among others. After the experience, trek back to the park headquarters to pick your certificates and head back to your lodge for lunch. In the afternoon you will head to the Bigodi Swamp for a walk, expect to see various bird species and monkeys like olive baboons, black and white colobus monkeys among others.

Day 6: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

After breakfast, depart for Queen Elizabeth National Park with a drive on the foothills of the Mountains of the moon. Queen Elizabeth National Park is the most popular wildlife safari destination in Uganda and the second largest park situated on the base of the majestic Rwenzori Mountain range, adjacent to Lake Edward and Lake George.

You will arrive in the park in time for lunch and later in the afternoon, you will go for a game drive exploring the park’s savannah. Lookout for various animals as well as birds. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 7: Morning Game drive, afternoon boat cruise

In the afternoon you will go for a launch cruise on Kazinga Channel where you will spot various water bird species such as herons, crested cranes and water animals like hippos and crocodiles among others.

Day 8: The Ishasha Sector transfer to Bwindi

After breakfast, you will embark on a journey to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park with en-route game drive in Ishasha Sector where you may see the tree climbing lions.

After an early breakfast, you will embark on a journey to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park – a gorilla trekking haven with en-route through the Ishasa Sector where you will see tree climbing lions resting on tree branches.

You will have en-route lunch, expect to arrive in the late afternoon. Spend the rest of day relaxing at your lodge. Have dinner and overnight at.

Day 9: Gorilla Tracking in Bwindi Gorilla Park 

Wake up early for breakfast and head to the park headquarters for briefing by UWA Ranger guides about the dos and don’ts. In groups of 8 people, you will be assigned a gorilla family to trek, then head into the forests looking for mountain gorillas, the trek takes approximately 2 to 6 hours depending on the movement of the gorillas and where they spent their previous night. When you locate the gorillas, you will spend one hour in their presence watching them play from one tree to another, watch female gorillas cater for their babies among others.

Trek back to the park headquarters, meet your guide and head to Lake Bunyonyo – the deepest lake in Uganda and the second deepests in the whole of Africa. Dinner and overnight at your lodge.

Day 10 – Bunyonyi cruise and Transfer to Kampala
